The Parrock is a modern country cottage in Stair village within the Newlands Valley. This former corn mill sits just 4 miles from Keswick in the Lake District National Park. The reverse-layout design puts the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area on the first floor to maximise views of Skiddaw and the surrounding fells.

The peaceful village location offers direct access to some of the best walking country in Cumbria. A private path through the woodland leads straight to Catbells, Barrow and Causey Pike. Cyclists can tackle the challenging Newlands Pass route from the doorstep.

The cottage sleeps 6 across three bedrooms. Two ground floor rooms include one double and one twin, both with garden views. A further double sits on the first floor. Two good-sized bathrooms serve the property: one family bathroom with shower over bath and one separate shower room.

Derwentwater lies at Keswick's edge with boat hire available. Whinlatter Forest Park (4.5 miles, 10 minutes) offers Go Ape, walking trails and cycle routes. Further afield you can visit Grasmere, Ambleside and Bassenthwaite Lake.

The Parrock suits active families and walkers wanting fell access from the door. Two dogs are welcome.
