A very spacious, comfortable property in a great location with beautiful views of the fells. The garden was so big and perfect for our dog to run around chasing bunnies. Our grandsons played football every day and just loved it. The facilities were good, especially the doggy shower. Lots of crockery and cutlery and everything youd need in the kitchen. The bedroom furniture in the downstairs double room was old and in poor condition. A full length mirror would be useful. Overall Id recommend the property and were already looking to book next year.

Beautiful home, fantastic location. The garden is amazing and the house itself was so clean and lovely. We had an amazing time!
From the outset the property suited us completely, though we had no dogs the accommodation was perfect for us, two couples and a single. My parents enjoying the downstairs. Great space for all of us and our gear, I kept my bike out in the garage where it was safe and dry. I may be mistaken but we could not get the main oven to reach a high enough temperature to heat food so we used the top oven only. The others in my group using the downstairs bathroom said there seemed to be a small leak under the hand basin. None of this would change our minds from rebooking, the location and outlook were perfect for us. Many thanks to the owners for their efforts to make our stay enjoyable, having stayed in Keswick over the past 50 years this was the most luxury we had ever afforded ourselves and it was well worth it. Please don't hike up the rent because I have written such a good review
What an amazing cottage, absolutely stunning
Absolutely beautiful property in a fantastic location, less than 5 mins walk into centre of Keswick with lovely walks literally on the doorstep. House is well equipped, spacious, and immaculately cleaned. The rear garden is around the size of a football pitch and fairly secure for dogs but would recommend dog owners dont leave dogs to play alone in the garden. Fence could be easily jumped over in a couple of places and there are sheep in the field next to the property. This was our 5th stay at Laal Field House and cant wait to go back.
The property itself is large and comfortable with beautiful gardens but a little dated. However the maintenance was very poor. Several dog stains left on carpets around the cottage, lights not working on the stairs and outside back door., and boiler cover hanging off. Plus several dining chairs were missing screws so the seat pads were loose. Tried to report this to Sykes but phone repeatedly cut me off or just rang out. I presumed they had closed for Christmas until new year. On the day of departure the cleaner turned up 20 mins early and put us in a fluster. Despite us stripping bed and towels and leaving them in designated place, cleaning all surfaces and hoovering the entire cottage and returning everything to the exact same position, we have been charged extra for, according to cleaner, leaving the place in an unacceptable state. It apparently it is not part of her cleaning regime to wipe out the salad boxes in the fridge or dry a washing up bowl or wipe a water bottle mark off a plastic book, nor as she aggressively informed my daughter, to clean up after dogs. In our rush to get out of her early arrival we dragged the dog from his breakfast and forgot to empty the leftover dried kibble in it. My daughter had cause to return to the property 10 minutes after we left to collect something she'd forgotten and apologised and cleaned, dried and put the dog bowl away but we have still been charged. My 7yr old grandson had a very slight nose bleed the night we left and I did forget to put the pillow slip in to soak, and I do accept responsibility for this. We have always done self catering throughout our lives but the difficulty and lack of communication with Sykes means I will be reluctant to use them again. But I will never go into any property that I know for sure is maintained and serviced by Noble peaks cottage management agency. The property itself is spacious and charming and my review does not reflect on either the owners or the property, which I would be more than happy to return to but on the competence of the cleaning service noble peaks cottage management and lack of communications with Sykes.

A lovely big family house with the added bonus of parking. I particularly liked the dog shower, every holiday home should have one. The garden was great for the dog and we could keep the mobility scooter safe in the garage. The view was fantastic to wake up to. There were lots of little extra thoughtful touches which made it a real home from home. The location was great, close to the centre yet tucked away quite private.
Third time we have been to Laalfield House, very nice property although the downstairs bedrooms have had new beds which our two sons felt the mattresses were too firm for them. Overall a very comfortable property in a good location.
Yvonne
Once again we had a lovely stay at Laal Fields, great house, great location with parking which is a great bonus. The house is spacious and comfortable with a lovely big back garden which our dogs loved. The house has everything you need with spacious rooms and everything you could possibly need with only a ten minute walk into the centre of Keswick and the park, couldnt want for more. Have stayed many times before and would definitely stay again thank you
Patricia
Laal Field House is a fabulous cottage. It is situated just minutes from the centre of Keswick, It is spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean with a huge garden. The garage has a dog shower which is really useful after muddy walks. You couldnt want a better holiday base.
Yvonne
Fantastic return visit to Laal Field House. Situated close to all amenities in bustling Keswick, with beautiful views and a very large garden to relax in. Our dogs loved watching the brave rabbits from the conservatory and charging around the grass, although the garden is not totally secure. The cottage is supplied with everything we needed, we especially appreciated the emergency lights and torches. A little TLC and updating to the bedrooms would be great and the shower racks could do with replacing. This did not detract from our wonderful week though. The property was spotlessly clean and a little problem when we were leaving was immediately solved by the maintenance team Thank you Gary!. We all would love to return next year.
Michael
We have stayed at this property many years now, very home from home, comfortable and clean, lovely large garden, short walk into Keswick, fantastic parking, plenty of room, will be back again, first class.
Wonderful property been going there many yrs as a family always such a pleasure worried when we saw travel lodge being built! ! But no problem still private & lovely definitely going again asap thank you all soo much Margaret Heap
Laal Field is one of the best cottages I have ever booked. It's in a perfect location near to Keswick town centre and the Cumbia Way. It provides masses of room a big lounge and dining room, modern well equipped kitchen and utility room, spacious bedrooms, brilliant powerful showers, comfy beds and quality linen. Throughout it is very well furnished. The garden complete with rabbits is enormous so there was plenty room for our dog to roam safely and a big plus was the dog shower in the garage. Spotlessly clean and everything well thought out. There was also parking for many cars on the driveway. There were some minor niggles outside seating was limited & there were no umbrellas for shade and there was no corkscrew or spare bin bags.
This was our third stay at Laal Field House. As always the premises was clean, well equipped and very comfortable and our dog loves the enormous garden.
Samantha
We enjoyed our stay here the property is a stone's throw away from the centre of Keswick with lovely walks on the doorstep. I also don't think there's anywhere else with such a large garden so close to the centre. The photos are an accurate representation as well. We were a group of 4, with 2 dogs, and the property was a comfortable size plus the fact that there is parking is a definite plus! We also met the owner during our stay, who is lovely. However, the garden fence needs maintenance if the garden is to be secure, as our dog escaped. There is a wire fence at the back which is sagging not sure if part of a tree has fallen onto it from the other side? leaving it quite low to the ground, and there's a large mound in front which means that our dog was able to chase a rabbit over the fence. Overall, I would stay here again and would definitely recommend it, but there should be more maintenance to make it fully dogproof.
Patricia
Super house. Spacious, comfortable, fabulous garden and views of the hills. We had a lovely week and cant recommend it highly enough.
This was our third visit to Laal Field House. We hope to get back again next year unless it is as usual fully booked. We love the house, its size, garden, location ... everything. A couple of comments negatives from this year. The house does need a tidy up in a couple of places Small patch of wallpaper hanging off the ceiling in the living room, mould spots on the ceiling of the main bathroom. The refuse bin. We were five adults, one toddler and one baby. The bin was almost entirely full when we arrived on Friday. It was emptied on Tuesday but we had almost entirely filled it with refuse and nappies by the time we left on the following Friday. Could really do with a larger refuse bin. Only one front door key this year to be used by the two families at the house ! Contacted Sykes, somewhat unhelpful and possibly patronising in my opinion response. And no high chair this year we were provided with a high chair on previous visits The house really does have every facility ... except a high chair.

We were very happy with the accommodation. we had 2 issues. 1. there was no laundry stand. even though there was a long washing line, the weather was not good enough to hang things out to dry. 2. the listing did say there were 2 fridges, however there was only 1 and we were very tight on space.
Beautifully spacious and comfortable holiday home from home with a huge back garden surrounded by trees and greenery. Set in a very quiet area just five minutes walk from town. We feel so lucky we were able to book this house. Hope to return
The cottage was amazing in many ways but I noticed there were a lot of cobwebs and dead insects in corners. The duvets are far too heavy for summer. Single beds downstairs very firm and not comfortable. Kitchen amazing and so well equipped. There is a trend of having to do more and more before leaving on the departure morning which means you have to get up earlier and earlier and, you can only go in after 4 on day of arrival. It seems the customer is getting less and less for more money. A greedy attitude to business.
Fab bungalow . Its our second visit to Laal Field House The comfort, cleanliness ,facilities and setting are amazing We cannot fault anything about this bungalow.
Debbie
The location of this house is fantastic plenty to do on your doorstep parking no problem. The pictures on Sykes do not do the house justice it was much bigger and better and the garden is like a park our dog was so happy running around and it was secure for him. We liked it so much we tried to book for next year, however it does not seem to be available.
A beautiful place to stay with a fantastic garden for the dogs. We have been twice and will be booking again soon.
This was our second stay at Laal Field House and we will definitely be looking to book again. Just a shame its fully booked until November! Lovely clean, spacious and comfortable property within easy walking distance of the town centre and a great secure garden for our dog. We did ask that the twin beds were made up as doubles which wasnt done but it wasnt a big issue for us. The same happened last year too.
The holiday went very well, comfortable a very nice place in Keswick Just one ... The holiday went very well, comfortable a very nice place in Keswick Just one minor thing is that the kitchen needed a knife sharpener as all the kitchen knives were blunt
Frances
This is a lovely, spacious, wellequipped cottage in a great location. There is a very large, but private, outdoor area and yet it is centrally placed in Keswick with everything within walking distance. The new Premier Inn does not really impinge on you at all. However during my stay our dog became entangled in the tv wires and pulled the television off the stand, smashing the screen. The tv was replaced quite quickly but it was only then when the stand was pushed back to the wall that I realised that it had been pulled away and left leaving wires trailing across the floor. This had been done because the tv is not large enough for the room and had not been pushed back leaving the room in a dangerous state. The cleaners should make sure the cottage is safe if the previous guests do not do so. This accident could have been a lot worse if a child had been involved.
We were welcomed by the owner who was very pleasant. We reported wasps in one bedroom, and were advised a couple of hours later that the wc in the main bathroom was not to be used. We were expecting some action during our stay, but nothing was evidently possible. As we had been preadvised of a broken blind, we felt that the wasps nest issue and the non availability of the wc did not provide us with a satisfactory experience, especially in the light of the cost of rental. The customer service from Sykes was prompt, but we did not feel they understood the nuisance caused by these matters. The property is beautiful, but we are unable to recommend it.
Fabulous well equipped property. Spotlessly clean with comfy beds and our dog loved the huge secure garden. We had thought that the nearby Premier Inn would have impacted on privacy but there was no noise at all and it didnt really overlook the garden. We did have a couple of small issues which were dealt with and the lovely owner even phoned and then visited to check everything was OK. A couple of suggestions which are in no way complaints but would have been appreciated would be a coffee machine and a garden parasol to provide some shade. There were cafetires but I am a total coffee snob and love my morning coffee. If there was a garden parasol stored away we didnt see it, however, the property was so big we may have missed it! Lastly, a wifi repeater might improve the signal to the end bedroom. The biggest issue is that we want to book to come back and there looks to be no availability!!!
Could do with a larger bin for the rubbish. Otherwise a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location.
Rachel
We have spent a week at Laal house and it was absolutely fantastic. My 2 dogs were in heaven from the moment they arrived and the eldest Betty who is 11 would have lived in that amazing garden for ever. The house was spacious and perfect for all of our needs. We were so close to the Cumbrian way but also close to all of the amenities in Keswick. We couldn't have picked a better location as it was also so quiet and peaceful yet perfect for all shops, bars, takeaways etc. We will definitely come back to this property and will recommend to friends and family. Our only slight issue was the bin situation as the wheelie bin was tiny and we had to take our recycling into town as there was no recycling bin. Also, the check out time of 930 was a slight disappointment. Overall a fantastic week and an amazing home.
