Shundraw Cottage Reviews

I havent got a bad word to say about this property. We had the best adventure staying at Shundraw cottage. The owners were absolutely fantastic and took time to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We have already booked to go back and counting the days down. Thank you Sue and Eric! Also to your daughter for taking time to chat to us. So excited to be coming back.

Shundraw Cottage is a lovely, comfy and well equipped holiday cottage, nestled in beautiful countryside. The kitchen has everything that you might need for your stay, the bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The views from the cottage to High Rigg, Clough Head and Blencathra are wonderful even on a rainy day! There are enjoyable walks to do straight from the cottage gate and at the same time Keswick is close by, with easy access to other roads. There were much appreciated scones, butter and jam awaiting our arrival, Along with a bottle of wine and some dog treats for our dogs. A truly peaceful and beautiful place to stay.

Shundraw Cottage is in a beautiful location with amazing views. It's a great little cottage and Eric and Sue were really welcoming. The house had everything we needed and the kitchen was well equipped. It is really warm and cosy and suited our family of 6 adults well.
Sylvia
Absolutely delightful cottage, all the comforts which we would expect and more ,and the location Wow did not wish to leave at all ,, we would highly recommend this cottage to everyone ,and the hosts and family were lovely and welcoming .
A beautiful cottage, easy to get to, with beautiful views and lots of birds to look at in the garden. The owners were lovely and they made us feel very welcome. We were a little apprehensive about the staircase in the kitchenliving room because our dog is rather clumsy, but she didnt seem to realise that they were stairs because of their shape, and she never tried to follow our daughters upstairs. The kitchen was well equipped, with a separate freezer, which was handy for us. We got a Sainsburys order delivered when we arrived, and were able to make some nice meals at the cottage. The beds were comfortable and the shower powerful enough. The central heating kept the cottage nice and warm on colder days. The WiFi was quite strong, but we also had 4G signal at the cottage it kept our daughters happy in the evenings! Added bonus a friendly Labrador for our dog to play with, and a few very friendly sheep to say hello to. We loved that! A fantastic base for hiking! We hope to stay there again in the future. Sue and Eric, thank you so much we had a wonderful holiday!

Great place and friendly owners on site
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks in Shundraw cottage. Such a comfortable, homely cottage in an idyllic rural location, yet only a short drive to Keswick and Threlkeld. A range of excellent walks from the doorstep. Eric and Sue were wonderful hosts, never intrusive but always friendly and willing to help with any queries. We loved their pet sheep and the little Shetland pony! We definitely recommend.

Lovely stay, everything we needed in the cottage. The children loved the local wildlife and farm animals. Great location for Keswick, Grasmere, Whinlatter Forest and other days out.
Fantastic cottage with a lovely warm welcome package. Hot cross bubs and a bottle of wine were a lovely thought.Well kept cottage with everything you could possible wantneed for your holiday. Lovely position with super views. Handy being close to Keswick so we could pop to Brysons. We would live to come back.
A beautiful cosy cottage with wonderful views and easy access to lots of lovely walks. A lovely place to come back to after a long days walk. The scones and bottle of wine was a lovely touch on our arrival and we really enjoyed our week there. We will defiantly being going again.
Me and the family spent a whole week here and had the most wonderful time. The cottage was a very warm and cosy place to come back to especially after a day out walking in the rain, which unfortunately was most days during our time here. Coming back here after a long, wet day out was definitely one of the highlights of our time in the Lake District, amongst the incredible scenery! The cottage had everything we needed, was very spacious and had a very well equipped kitchen. The beds were super comfy and the cottage is surrounded by the most beautiful views. We spent many mornings admiring all the different varieties of small birds feeding from the bird table in front of the kitchen window. An absolute delight. If you want peace and quiet this cottage is perfect. It is also very conveniently located, only a short drive away from many wonderful places, and an 8 minute drive from Keswick. Thank you to Sue & Eric who were lovely hosts and very attentive. I'm sure we will be back again at some point in the future!
Beautifully equipped, comfortable and extremely clean property. Having stayed in many holiday cottages, this is up there with the best!
Slow internet connectivity
A delightful homely and attractive cottage quiet and beautiful location yet only 15 minutes from Keswick. Perfect to return to from a day quite often wet out in the wonderful Lake District. Lovely for two a second loo would make it lovely for 4 or 6.
