The Newlands Valley offers walking routes from the door to Causey Pike, Ard Crags, Robinson and Dale Head. Derwentwater lies a couple of miles away for cruises, fishing and kayaking. Keswick is 5. 5 miles away. Whinlatter Forest Park sits 5 miles from the cottage.
