Brandelhow House Reviews

Alison
One of the nicest properties we've ever stayed in. Very spacious, comfortable, well presented, and only a short walk into Keswick. We were able to park on the street directly outside. Stair gate very useful for keeping the dogs from running upstairs. We'd definitely stay again.
Donald
Superb accomodation, spotlessly clean, well appointed, comfortable. There was only 2 of us staying, so only having one toiletbathroom was not a problem. For 6 people not having another downstairs loo would be a problem.
Judith
The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay. There were a few minor issues Id like to raise. The kettle needs replacing it would not stay on. The towels are a little old and had a foisty smell S did the back bedroom bedding. The throws in the living room also needed a wash. We did have a lovely time with just the few niggles above. Thank you

Lovely house. Clean, well planned, warm and stylish. Really comfy beds and a fabulous oven, essential for Christmas!
Great pre Christmas stay, perfect location , the house had everything needed.

Great stay in Brandelhow House. The situation is perfect... quiet street and a short walk into the town centre. The house was warm, comfortable and well equipped. 100 recommend it.
We had a wonderful stay at Brandlehow House, we really didnt want to leave! It was perfect for our needs. Lovely and clean, spacious and very well equipped kitchen. The welcome pack is a lovely touch and having a stair gate to keep dogs downstairs, is ideal. We will definitely be back. Thank you
Rachel
A lovely town house well situated 3 mins walk from Keswick centre. Spacious house for 7 people. Modern furnishings. Comfy beds.
Alison
Ive stayed many times self catering in The Lakes and this was by far the loveliest house we have stayed in. It had absolutely everything you could wish for in terms of equipment and facilities and was a true home from home experience everything from tumble dryer to kitchen equipment there was absolutely nothing else we needed. I would definitely stay here again.
Good location, pleasant and comfortable property which catered very well for three couples. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely look to stay here again.
Fabulous. Lovely, spacious, well equipped house.
Elizabeth
A lovely holiday home, great size and very clean and comfortable. A short walk to Keswick centre. There were only 4 of us but had 6 of us been there, it was very roomy and we would stay there again.
Jeremy
Lovely location. Plenty of space for 6 and 2 dogs. Great kitchen, although fridge v small for 6 and it froze lots of the food stored on the bottom shelf. V useful utility and back entrance for muddy kit. V nice to have separate dining room and comfy lounge. 2 double beds were small for taller people. Wifi reliable for work purposes.

This is the second time we have stayed at Brandelhow House. The house is perfectly situated for easy access to Keswick allowing you to explore this lovely Lakeland town and the area as a whole. Numerous long walks and hikes from your doorstep in order to keep the active members of your group happy. The accommodation was spacious, clean and well presented with no issues whatsoever throughout the week. Excellent communication from Sykes from start to finish.
The house in general was great, all facilities and well presented. It was unacceptable however to rent a property with a known issue in the dining room. The smell meant we could not use that room and had to balance plates on our knees whilst sat in the kitchen. For the price this is unacceptable. The cleaner placed a plug in to mask the smell but that did not work. Following communication it is clear you are aware of the issue as you attempted to shampoo and clean the curtains. The issue still is present. I would request some financial reimbursement for the lack of a suitable eating area.
Absolutely fabulous cottage couldnt fault it had a perfect stay

Our second visit to Brandelhow House. A lovely house, spacious and comfortable with everything you need a real home from home. Great location with plenty of parking.
Weve had a wonderful Christmas stay at Brandelhow House. The house was cosy, comfortable, spacious & homely. Everything we needed was provided. We found the utility area handy for when we came back from runs and walks with the dogs. Location was ideal for accessing Keswick and the local fells from the door. We already look forward to booking our next visit!
Bridget
A fabulous house ! Spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything you need, a real home from home. In great location with plenty of parking.

Fabulous cottage done to an exceptionally high standard and very central to Keswick. However maybe one to avoid if you have a young dog or one that takes a little time to settle in the crate as neighbours not particularly tolerant of dog noise. Our dog is only 7 months sob was crated when we couldnt keep our eyes on him 100 of the time and did whinebark for the 1st 5 10 minutes but was was never left alone in the house. This resulted in notes through the door and complaints to Sykes. This did put us on edge and ultimately impacted on our ability to relax and enjoy ourselves. Cannot fault the actual cottage and I have to say Sykes were very supportive and sympathetic when they actually spoke to us. May just be us having a bad week but might be worth checking with Sykesthe owners how often they receive dog noise complaints before booking.
Maxine
We have just come home from a weeks stay at Brandelhow and have already booked for Feb next year! The house is beautiful! There was 6 of us and the house was so spacious and has everything you need the address bonus is its only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Keswick.
A big property with plenty of space and just a short walk into Keswick town centre. The only downside was the lack of a ground floor toilet
Samantha
Beautiful spacious property with everything you could need, and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay and will definately be back again. Maybe a downstairs toilet would be a bonus and a higher fence at the back. All in all we had a great family focused week and was very comfortable.
Shirley
Beautifully maintained terraced house in a quiet street with lots of parking options. Owners have furnished property to a high standard, especially kitchen and its facilities. Big and roomy spaces and lovely neighbours! Our only negatives would be the fact that the bedrooms didn't have blackout blinds, so those sensitive to light, may want to consider bringing an eyemask. Also, as the double bedrooms are all of good proportions, king sized beds would be a better option, but that's just our own opinion. No downstairs toilet, but owners are already considering fitting one. Would we return? Most definitely!
A lovely place to stay. Absolutely spotless when we arrived, very comfortable with quality furniture but practical too. Bathrooms are superb and the bedrooms are all excellent. A couple of things to point out for the owners benefit really, two doors wouldnt fully close and as one is the end bedroom that was a bit inconvenient. Door handles just need adjustment. Also, you can see daylight round most of the front door so just needs some insulation tape! Just thinking of your winter fuel bills. Maybe the courtyard could be made a little more private too, if Im being picky. Parking was fine in the first two days in late May but after that it could be a problem parking near the property. Guess that depends on when you stay here. Anyway these are minor points, we really enjoyed our time at the property. It is very smart inside, spacious, only a few minutes walk from the town and has views of some of the hills. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay and we would highly recommend.
Catherine
We had a lovely stay in Brandelhow House, the only disappointment was the lack of plugs in the bedrooms by the mirrors for convenience of using hairdryers etc. I would suggest anyone booking take an extension lead with them.
Elizabeth
Very clean with good facilities. Upstairs more spacious than advertised. Comfy beds and great sized utility room. Could go with shower gels etc. No problem with parking. Fence too small to keep dogs in the backyard. Overall though, a great stay thank you in a lovely, spacious cottage.

Excellent location, lovely house, tastefully furnished, very clean, we really enjoyed our stay three friends Two comments no toilet downstairs, and the beds in 2 bedrooms are too small for couples queen size, other than that just great
The property is very nice and, in an ideal world, would be better with a downstairs toilet. A lack of cleaning solutionsequipment proved a challenge as we like to keep on top of the properties we stay at. The fence height at the rear of the property is not ideal when you have dogs who are intent on escaping. The biggest issue by far was on the last day. We were scheduled to leave at 10am and packing the car boot was open when the cleaners came barging into the house without even knocking on the door at 9.35am. We were not prepared for their arrival and our two dogs, who both have suicide streak, headed straight for the door and the busy road. It was a terrible, heart stopping moment that has caused us real anguish. Please can you make sure your cleaners do not do this again.

Alyson
Lovely modern house great facilities and had a great stay! Was lovely how welcoming they are to the dog page 4 I think on the info book
This is our second year coming to this property we chose it for its comfort location and size. Its well equipped and super comfortable. On both occasions its been presented well and is spotlessly clean in a lovely quiet street with easy parking and great views up over the hills. We will definitely book again next year.
Andrew
Excellent property. Our second time there and it was good to see standards maintained. We'l definitely be back.
A fabulous house, located within easy walking distance of Keswick, even the on street parking proved no problem at all. The house was clean with excellent facilities, everything we could possibly have wanted for the perfect stay
Cathryn
Very well situated house and very comfy and well presented

What a lovely house, was surprised by how big it was inside, had everything we needed, it was spotlessly clean, the decor was very nice, the living room was very cosy, the beds were so comfortable, 5 minute walk into Keswick, no allocated parking for the property but was always plenty of space outside on the road, the only strange criticism was the towels smelt of smoke, which was really strange as the house was clearly smoke free, enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked it again for this year, would highly recommend staying here
