
Thirlmere Cottage is a traditional 2-bedroom Lake District cottage sitting at the foot of a mountain, surrounded by fells on three sides with Lake Thirlmere just ten minutes' walk away. The views from every window are genuinely spectacular mountains, fells and Herdwick sheep grazing right up to the glass. This is a proper quiet retreat, not a holiday park.
The location is central for the Lake District. Keswick and Ambleside are around 20 minutes by car. Walks start directly from the garden gate Helvellyn, Silver How, Helm Crag and Harrop Tarn are all accessible on foot. A public footpath to Thirlmere Reservoir begins in the garden. Red deer and red squirrels have been spotted nearby.
