Greengarth is as described. It was very clean, a convenient walking distance into Keswick, with a comfortable bed, a good shower and plenty of crockery. The garden was secure for our dog and pleasant to sit out in. It is the only property we have booked which didnt offer a drop if milk to make a drink on arrival. We dont expect a welcome hamper.

Positives Location Size and layout of house House is well equipped garden is beautiful Negative overall cleanliness wasnt great fridge had bits of old food, some of the dishes in cupboard were dirty, bathroom was awful with cobwebs and mould, flooring and carpets need a good clean the tiles and sealant around the bath really need and upgrade. Oven door is broken Fridge needs to be upgraded, door doesnt close properly the cushions, throws and rug need to be cleanedchanged. Bits of food left on them and stained This is our third stay, we stayed in 2018 and the house was beautiful, we came back in 2021 and still nice but this stay we couldnt believe the difference and would probably not stay again. The house is beautiful but needs a bit of tlc

The single bed and the double bed mattresses are past their best and need replacing. The biggest problem is the owners of the adjoining semi who went away and left their music on really loud all night and day for 5 of the 7 nights. When this happened my wife remembered that they did the same thing when we stayed there 7 years ago. Whether this is a burglar deterrent or something to do with Greengarth being a holiday let I don't know but it was really annoying. Apart from this it was exactly as it says on the tin with great views of Skiddaw weather allowing.
Excellent location, great garden and well equipped kitchen. A few maintenance issues but nothing that spoilt our holiday we were made aware of them on arrival. Would recommend the property and hope to be able to book it again next year.

We had a lovely stay at Greengarth. The house is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The location is ideal and close to Keswick centre and walks. The car never moved. The neighbours were helpful and friendly. Off road parking was a bonus. We will definitely be back.
This is our 7th stay here and we love the house. There are one or two concerns that need sorting out and have been reported but nothing done about them. 1 Recycling bins both full to the brim and not collected. No instructions on when the collection is to take place, but they have obviously been left out for ages. 2 No catch or lock on the downstairs loo. 3 Oven door loose. 4 Only one key. Please forward these to the owners. Such a shame to spoil such a lovely house , and so frustrating.
Superb location. 10 mins into town. Fitz park on your doorstep. Nice secure garden. Very comfortable and suitable for groups of up to 5 people. Well equipped. My only gripes related to little bits of maintenance. The bottom oven door needs securing and the bath plug didnt work. The recycling arrangements seem to confuse everybody. A lovely house though.
Lovely cottage very clean and in a great location. The only issue would be the clothes hanging space and no draws in the main bedroom. There was also mould on the bathroom ceiling . This wouldnt stop us visiting this lovely cottage again . Thank you .

Beautiful cottage! Great location!
We really enjoyed our stay at Greengarth, it is a lovely house, very well equipped within walking distance to Keswick. Our dogs enjoyed the fully enclosed garden which had stunning views also from the back bedroom. Private parking was an added bonus. Towels are provided but this consisted of a hand towel and a slightly larger towel and we only had one tea towel. The bath is very deep with a shower overhead, a non slip bath mat should be provided to preventing slipping. That said we had a really great time, weather was glorious and it is the perfect location for exploring the Lakes. We would definitely recommend this house and will hopefully stay again in the future.

We had an awesome time here at Greengarth. The house was really nice with excellent views over the mountains. It has a lovely garden but could do with some more comfortable garden furniture so you could enjoy it more. Overall everything inside was excellent but again the sofas could do with an upgrade if theres more than two people. We slept in the front bedroom and it was really comfortable, we never tried the back bedroom as there was a bit of a funky smell in there? but Im sure it would be comfortable and it has amazing views over Skiddaw. Definitely would love to visit here again.
We love the proximity to the town everything is so near and the walks from the property are wonderful. We have rebooked for a third time so that should tell you how nice this property is to experience. I have emailed you on another matter awaiting comment. All in all cannot wait to return next year. As for Sykes they are great they welcome you and give you all the information you need prior to arrival and wish you well on departure. Very very friendly agents who are always there to contact should you need to . A pleasant experience all round.
We had a wonderful stay, the cottage has absolutely everything we needed. The dogs loved the securely enclosed garden and it was great to have an off road parking space.
Edward
Second time we have stayed and we really enjoyed it again, will definitely return. The only thing we thought was missing and we thought this last time was a draining board rack. Only a tiny thing but it would be really helpful. Fantastic stay, thanks very much.
Claire
This is the second time we've stayed at Greengarth, we love the property, ideal location, great enclosed garden with beautiful views, friendly neighbours, there a couple of glasses and plates had chips, and tissues had been left over the bed. A small welcome back of milk and tea bags would be greatly received luckily we bought our own whilst we waited for our grocery shop to arrive. Definitely would stay again.
A lovely home. So cosy.
We have visited Greengarth a few times now and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay again. The location is perfect and its really dog friendly with a large secure well kept garden. Some things are looking a little tired now and probably need replacing. I also think it world be nice to have 2 sofas as there is space but thats just a small point. I would have liked to have used the bath but the water was set at a temperature upstairs that was warm rather than hot, so this wasnt possible. I would recommend.
What a beautiful home, loads of space and lovely warm home, would return again thanks
Lovely property, particularly downstairs, upstairs is more basic. There was a problem with some of us getting in and out of the bath which sits high and shower doors limit access a bit. We could have done with an extra hand towel in the downstairs loo. There is an issue with the bin as along with previous guests we arrived to the bin being rammed full. We had to take some of our rubbish home. Many of these points would be easily resolved to make this a really perfect property as it is well equipped, has a great location and off street parking and a beautiful spacious open plan downstairs with a stunning patio with bi fold doors which would be perfect in the summer.
We were very impressed with the property. Clean and comfortable. Felt really spacious and had everything we would need
A beautiful property in a great location, very well presented and generously equipped. We loved our week, the great weather also helped. The property is spacious with a lovely garden and great views. We only ate out once as the dinning area is a great place to eat and chill. We used to live in Cockermouth for 34 years and Keswick is one of our favourite places. It was nice to come back and visit after moving away from the area and to see old friends the house and stay made for a perfect week. We will look to come back again next Spring.
Beverley
An amazing property only 5 minutes walk into Keswick. Fully equipped with everything you need. Being able to park 2 cars off road was a bonus. Beds extremely comfortable, well thought out property, would definitely book this property again.
Timothy
Really good property, with close access to Keswick. Pros Modern kitchen and dining area, with open plan Great bifold windows Good toilets and shower Lovely garden, really well maintained Cons For a place in the Lakes, a bigger airing rack is needed to dry clothes Install an outside washing line to air clothes Have an ironing board. There's no point just having an iron Lake lovers should do more to keep a few bin liners, hand wash in each toilet, and more tea towels. There was one tea towel to dry and none of the other above products. A customer should not have to spend a lot of money for a week's stay and then buy bin liners. A few could at least be added for the beginning of the week Upstairs curtain poles are loose, to the point of breaking off. They need replastetring and securing. Bit more colourpictures to the upstairs bedrooms
This was our second stay at Greengarth. It is a lovely property in a quiet location but easy walking distance to town. The garden is a good size and enclosed, perfect for our dog. The kitchen is well equipped though we always eat out or or bring in a takeaway. It is good to have off road parking too. It provides everything we need for a week of walking in the Lakes and we have already booked for next year.
Edward
In general absolutely loved it, best cottage we have stayed at in the Lakes and we will definitely come back. Love the Herdy crockery! I am already badgering my wife to rebook. Only one small point to mention, there is a lot of mould in the silicone around the bath below the wall tiles. Could do with cleaning or replacing. Thank you and please pass on our thanks to the owners for a lovely stay.
Karina
We have been coming to Keswick for the last 30 years and have stayed in many houses. But this house has been the best on location, comfort and facilities. The garden was secure for the dogs and the bifold doors in the kitchen really make this property so special! We enjoyed it so much we have already booked for next year. Thank you!
Greengarth is a lovely well equipped house with beautiful bifold doors out to a rear garden with a view of Skiddaw. It is within walking distance of the square in Keswick. Beautiful home from home we will return soon.
Greengarth is a lovely property. Its a proper home from home within walking distance of the town. We loved it here
Property was lovely very central, we would love to return.
Greengarth is a lovely spacious property , we really enjoyed our time there, it has everything you need for a great holiday. Particularly enjoyed eating breakfast with a view of Skiddaw! Situated in a quiet cul de sac but in close proximity to the centre of Keswick and walks straight from the door. We have already booked to return next year!
Cassie
We had a lovely stay at Greengarth which is easy to find, has good parking and is very conveniently located. The house was wellequipped and very warm we forgot to bring logs for the fire but we didnt need it. There was a cleaning pack but no teabags etc provided, which we were aware of from previous reviews so didnt cause an issue. The garden was just right for our dog and will be lovely once all the bulbs are out. We would definitely stay here again.
Joanne
Lovely spacious property in excellent location. Good sized off road parking space. Nicely equipped and decorated throughout. Comfortable beds, plenty of fresh, generously sized bath towels. Enclosed garden great for dogs. Beautiful views. Only minor disappointment is that this is first property where we have not been greeted with a small basic welcome pack a few tea bagscoffee and milk plus a starter pack of kindling and logs would be a nice additional touch.
Stuart
Excellent holiday cottage. We cant wait to return. Thanks
