Just a fabulous place to stay. Furnishings, decor, facilities, garden all top marks. You will not be disappointed. The farm track to the property is a little rocky, so Lamborghini owners beware

This is an outstanding property with loads of space for large family's or groups, every member found the beds were comfortable and all slept well. The owner has put lots of thought and work into the cottage and is decorated beautifully. The garden is huge and the dogs loved it. We had a fabulous stay and wished we could've stayed longer. Only one thing to bear in mind, the track to the cottage would be unsuitable for vehicles that sit low or with lowered suspension. Thank you for a lovely stay.

It was our second visit to Scalegill House and we had a lovely 4 night stay, the house is beautiful and so peaceful, it has everything there that you would need and the dogs had a great time in the garden. 100 recommend this property and would like to go back again sometime.

Scalegill House was fantastic, we had a wonderful New Year there, the house is perfect, lots of space, and everything that you would need in the house was there, it was also decorated with christmas tree and lights etc which was so beautiful and cosy. The large fenced garden was brilliant for the dogs to run around having all that freedom and the views were great. It is so peaceful and relaxing there, like a mini retreat. We enjoyed it that much that we rebooked while we were there to go back in June. What a diamond gem find it is. 100 recommend this place.

Scalegill House was fabulous. Everything you could want and need was provided. The size of the rooms were fabulous and all very welcoming. John the owner was there when we arrived and was very welcoming. We would recommend Scargill House and its friendly sheep, as neighbours were wonderful.

Scalegill House is the perfect house for a lovely family break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is a beautiful house with 3 lovely bedrooms 2 ensuite and a shower room downstairs and with everything you think you might need already provided in a beautiful tranquil setting. It is just a 1520 minute drive from Keswick with a bus stop at the bottom of the lane if you fancy a day off driving. Keswick Reach Lodge resort is next door but other than the odd dog walker we would never have known the resort was there and you have to bonus of being able to walk to their restaurant bar in 10 minutes and enjoy some decent food and a pub quiz if you fancy a night out. We enjoyed our stay and we wouldnt hesitate to stay there again.

We all had the best time ever. .the cottage was stunning and had everything we needed for our stay..the views where amazing and even better when they sheep where in the field.my daughters got special needs so the toys and games really made our stay more relaxing for us.the whole cottage was clean tidy and smelt really nice.thanks u for letting us stay in the cottage and we have definitely made lots of memories of our holiday.we would definitely book again.

Fantastic, very comfortable, spacious property. Great location and great enclosed space for our dog outside. Broadband superb which was unexpected. Couldn't find a fault. Hope to return soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing property. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very warm especially with the log burner fire and stock of logs provided. Easy directions to the cottage. Would highly recommend.

The photos of this cottage dont do it justice its a beautiful location and the cottage had plenty of space for 6 adults. The beds were very comfy and the bedrooms were huge. The cottage was spotless and the owners had thought of absolutely everything. Great for walking dogs, and the bar in Keswick retreat was a short walk away and very welcoming. We loved it. It was trimmed with Xmas decs which were very tasteful.

Beautiful cottage one of the best we've stayed in. Peaceful, spacious and very clean with a huge garden for our two dogs to enjoy. We didn't want to leave!

Such a wonderfully appointed, tastefully decorated house in lovely location you wouldnt know there was a lodge retreat next door. The enclosed garden was fantastic for the dogs. So much room for 3 couples and 2 dogs and the well equipped utility room was great for boots & walking gear. Wasnt an implement in the kitchen that hadnt been thought of and provided. John, the owner, was lovely, very interesting and helpful when the power tripped out. Photos dont do this house justice just a lovely place. I do hope we get to come back.

Really lovely house with every box ticked for us. We enjoyed a lovely family holiday and our two dogs were able to come along too. The beds were super comfy giving us a great nights sleep. A bit of a rarity in holiday homes. The house was spacious and clean with a lovely dog proof garden. First rate.

One of the best houses we have ever stayed in. Theres lots of space and everything is finished to the highest spec. It doesnt look particularly attractive from the outside, being a very old farmhouse, but inside is beautiful. I wouldnt recommend for anyone who is disabled or has difficulty walking as it is situated down a long farm track, but the views are lovely and the owners very welcoming. A very special place

We enjoyed a fabulous week at Scalegill House. The property exceeded our expectations. It was a home from home with all amenities and wonderfully spacious. The garden was great for the dogs, much larger than expected and fully enclosed. The farmhouse is accessed by a long farm track, through two gates and between fields of sheep and lambs, a lovely peaceful setting. Hope to rebook this property and will recommend to others.

We had a great week at Scalegill House which is situated in a rural, peaceful setting with lovely views . The house is warm, spacious and very well furnished with all you need.

A great week, our fourth trip and most certainly not our last! We love the property itself as well as the location and cant wait to return. It is an ideal place for families and couples alike and four legged friends are well served too. Thank you another wonderful week.

Absolutely fabulous property, so comfortable & clean . It had everything you could possibly want & more. The beds were so comfortable, spacious & lovely clean, quality bedding. On the evenings we took advantage of the amazing log coal fire with plenty of available firewood but can imagine in summer the draw is the garden , especially if you have children or dogs. There is a huge fridge freezer & ninja air fryer , slow cooker & all the cookware & utensils thats needed. Everything was spotlessly clean & nice quality. The photos do not do the property justice , we 3 couples had a fabulous weekend away & would definitely return & recommend

This is a fantastic holiday cottage. Very clean and welcoming with the xmas tree lights on when we arrived.Everything that we could have wanted was thought about including the lovely and warm solid fuel burner in the living room.Great comfy beds and well planned layout.We will certainly be going again when we can !!

What a beautiful house we arrived in the dark and on entering were so impressed with everything . We went for Christmas and all the trimmings were up the tree all lit up the heating was on so lovely and warm . The house was immaculately clean was so well equipped even an air fryer which came in very handy . Would defo recommend this place was beautiful we would love to go back maybe in the summer months when its warmer and not as wet . The garden was also lovely so big and great for the dogs as fully fenced off for them to run around .

The property was lovely. Very spacious, very clean and warm. Loved the log burner. The extra touch of an Air Fryer was unexpected , great idea. There was absolutely no negatives would recommend this cottage to my friends and family in a heartbeat. Thank you.

We had the best weeks holiday at Scalegill. Poppy the dog really loved the huge garden which is completely secure and full of high quality sniffs rabbits We found the property spotless and really homely.free standing bath in the top room was a real luxury too. had the pleasure of meeting John the owner with lovely Zeppy the dog. John was really lovely and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!!! Jo, Chris & Poppy X

We had a wonderful family week with our grand daughter, her parents and two dogs in this Cumbrian Farmhouse and we all loved it. The location and all the facilities were perfect for us and it was a new area of the Lakes for us to explore. The kitchen was light, bright and very well equipped. The sitting dining room was generous and the log burner was a delight. The wifi was not always at full strength but this could be the numbers of people using it. We will definitely be back as even the weather behaved during our stay.

We are repeat bookers for a reason Scalegill is a great property in a great location with all the amenities you could need. Thank you for another lovely stay.

Everything about the property was excellent. The only criticism is that both ensuites had baths and no walk in shower. However the shower at the back of the boot room was excellent. Other than that no fault could be found at property

This was a 4 star property but I would give it 5. Just wished I had longer. It was very isolated but we like that. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic location and property for exploring the Lakes. Everything you need is there and more, we had a brilliant stay. The garden is safe and secure for dogs with lovely scenery all around you. The owner is so welcoming and friendly. We have already booked to come back next year.

Fantastic stay thank you. Hopefully we will be back to stay next year. Excellent spot to explore the Northern side of the Lakes. Small maintenance issue which was resolved quickly. There is a bridal way going past the house and through the farm but caused no issues for us. The grounds are excellent and the sunsets amazing from the comfort of the garden. The garden is secure for dogs to roam free which is a bonus. Walks from the farm mean no car needed to have an adventure.
