The surrounding countryside is outstanding. Fells including Cat Bells, Skiddaw and Blencathra are all accessible on foot. Keswick town is 2 miles away with shops, restaurants and a twice-weekly market. Derwentwater boat trips, Whinlatter Forest and Honister Slate Mine are all within easy reach.

The barn sleeps four across two bedrooms. The ground-floor king-size bedroom has a walk-in shower en suite. The first-floor double has a bathroom with bath and shower over. Open-plan kitchen and dining room with beamed ceilings and wooden floors leads up to a first-floor sitting room with high-pitched ceiling and glass balustrade.

Absolutely beautiful property which was very well maintained and cleaned and was highly suitable for dog owners. The views from the property were stunning and it is a great location so close to Keswick. I dont think it is clear on the listing that you cannot leave dog unattended even in a crate if they are happy with this so this would have been useful to know earlier it did state on email but I dont remember reading it on the listing. But otherwise everything was perfect thank you!

Best barn is in such a picturesque location with fields and elks all around. It is so peaceful and friendly. The cottage had everything you could possibly need and the lay out was lovely. It is in a great location for Keswick and we spent most days paddle boarding on Derwent water. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Nest Barn was probably the best self catering we have stayed in. It had everything we needed with the bonus of the courtyard and field for our dog which was great. So many places that cater for dogs do not have an enclosed place to let them out. The views from the big picture windowdoor was fantastic and the distance from Keswick was good as away from the crowds, but easy to get there. Would definitely stay again!

Clean and comfortable with modern facilities. The views and position of the cottage were superb with lots of room for our two dogs who stayed outside safely in the sun most of the time we were back at the cottage. As it was our first time in the Lake District, we would have found it useful to have had a little bit more information about the various pubs and Hotels, for example what other people had thought of the food and service. It took us all week to find the best pub for a meal

Location is a great base for access to the local area, choice of either a hike straight out of the front door or a quick drive to visit the picturesque local townsvillages. Facilities excellent and very clean throughout. do Dog friendly, gated outside and a private field for active dogs. Beautiful views, comfortable and relaxing, a great place to come home to after days exploring the areas around the lakes. Close to visit Wordsworth homes,Dove Cottage and Rydall Mount and for Lake Boat trips which we thoroughly enjoyed. Plenty of walks from the Barn including Castlerigg stone circle. We would stay againand recommend Nest Barn totally.
