About Dovedale

Dovedale is a three-storey Victorian terraced house in Keswick, in the north of the Lake District. It sleeps six guests across three floors and sits just a five-minute walk from Keswick's market square. The location is exceptional Derwentwater is within easy walking distance and the Borrowdale Valley is right on your doorstep.

Keswick has everything you need. Pubs, restaurants, wine bars, Theatre by the Lake, a cinema, the Pencil Museum and a climbing wall are all close by. Fitz Park is nearby for walks. Skiddaw and Catbells are accessible straight from town.

The house has three bedrooms all with super king-size doubles (convertible to twins). The master bedroom on the first floor has a bay window and en-suite shower room. The second bedroom is also on the first floor. The third bedroom on the second floor has a feature bath. A top-floor media room with TV and seating is a real bonus. There is no hot tub.

Castlerigg Stone Circle (1.5 miles, 5 mins), Derwentwater boat trips (0.8 miles, 3 mins), Theatre by the Lake (0.7 miles, 3 mins) and the Lake District Wildlife Park (8 miles, 20 mins) are all nearby.

We holiday in Keswick every year because we love the place, plenty of lovely walks for all either on the flat or hills for fantastic views. Its also very easy to jump on a bus and explore other areas outside Keswick. Dovedale has been one of the best properties we have stayed during our times in Keswick. From the property cleanliness to all the nice touches like wine and treats, we could not fault it. We will definitely stay again.

A lovely property, very clean and with everything you could need. Liked the large super king sized beds in all the bedrooms and the extras left by the owners. Would definitely book again.

We were very impressed by both the cleanliness of the cottage and the kitchen equipment. The owner left a plentiful supply of logs for the fire along with an invitation to contact him if we needed more. The wine, milk, jams teas and coffee etc provided were appreciated too. The cottage is in an excellent location for walking and the shops and variety of eating places in Keswick.

Had a lovely stay at Dovedale despite the bad weather. The accommodation was above expectations. So clean a credit to the cleaners and extremely well equipped and comfortable. Very well positioned within walking distance and the centre of Keswick. I could not recommend Dovedale more highly and would certainly stay again.

The only disappointment is we are unable to book again next year already taken, and no surprise. This home is beautiful, well decorated and modern. well presented. We loved the little gifts and welcome great touch. Not like most lets where there is always the bare minimum of cups, plates, cutlery. there is plenty of everything. Highly recommended

I would not hesitate in recommending anyone to stay at Dovedale. So much thought and attention to detail has gone into providing the highest standard of accommodation. The property is very clean, cosy and in a great location close to the centre of Keswick. The bedrooms are spacious with comfy beds, the showers are superb with lots of towels, toilet rolls, toiletries provided and theres a hairdryer in each bedroom. The welcoming package of milk, wine, tea, coffee and chocolate was appreciated too. Even treats for our Labrador and towels and throws provided. There is no garden but you are close to Fitz Park for dog walking. We all thoroughly enjoyed our week at Dovedale and look forward to returning.

Dovedale is beautiful, very well located, immaculately clean and one of the loveliest places weve ever stayed. Stunning views over Skiddaw were a wonderful bonus! The beds are very comfortable, its truly a home from home. Everything you could possibly wish for is provided for you. The little extra super thoughtful touches blew us away and were very much appreciated. We cant recommend it more highly and wouldnt hesitate to stay again.

Very well appointed and looked after property, with lots of little extra touches such as biscuits and jams. Parking was fine for us but can imagine it could be challenging during busy holidays. Cottage in a great location will certainly be returning!

Dovedale is a gorgeous spacious house. We thoroughly enjoyed our break. The house is extremely comfortable and well equipped with lots of additional extras. This is one of the best properties we have stayed in , in Keswick. We recently holidayed for 1 week and could not have wished for a better house for location, cleanliness, the facilities and the little extras , including for our fur babies. Dovedale is one of the nicest houses we have ever stayed in. It had everything we needed and was immaculately clean. The beds were so nice and comfortable. The owners left some very thoughtful welcome gifts, milk, water, wine, some toiletries which were all much appreciated. Will definitely go there again.

We have stayed in numerous holiday houses and this is by far the best. The level of cleanliness and comfort was 5 and we loved staying here. Les was extremely helpful and kindly bought a non slip mat for the dining room floor as our greyhound found it slippy. I think we have now been spoilt for future properties and we will certainly return to Dovedale. The photos dont do it justice and it felt more like a self catering luxury hotel than a house. The location is perfect and in very quiet. Cant wait to return!

The positives lovely house, central location and plenty of room. The negative excessive lust of how the owners want the place cleaning before you leave! I have rented all over the world but never been expected to strip all the beds before I leave, clean the bathrooms etc. when you pay hundreds of s for a short stay I would expect a cleaner to do after I have gone.

We throughly enjoyed our holiday in the Lake District. We stayed in Dovedale a beautiful three story property in Keswick which was just a few minutes walk into the centre. Dovedale had everything it was beautifully furnished with every amenity from the lounge with wood burning stove, large TV and leather sofas. Walk through to the dining room with large dining table. The kitchen was a step down and beautifully appointed it looked brand new. Upstairs the bedrooms again had the high standard of furnishings and decor, all with wall mounted TV. Dovedale also had a Media Room on the top floor. There was everything for every generation I would highly recommend Dovedale.

Great house, lots of little extras left for us,vsuch as toiletries, wine, biscuits. Immaculately clean, huge comfortable beds. Kitchen well equipped good space to cook in. I honestly can't think of anything that we would have needed that wasn't there. If we stay in Keswick again we will return to this beautiful house.
